What is PMC?
Precious Metal Clay acts like clay and looks like clay, but it’s not exactly clay. This fantastic material allows me to design fine silver jewelry in the same manner as I would create a clay sculpture. PMC comes in clay form, but is actually fine silver combined with a binder. Once fired in a kiln, hot pot or by torch, the binder is removed from the product, leaving you with 999 Fine Silver. It’s a fantastic material that allows me to stretch my imagination.
Differences in Silver:
.999—Fine silver (99.9% pure silver)
.925—Sterling silver (92.5% pure silver)
Plated—Fine silver over a base metal
